BIRMINGHAM — A lieutenant with the Birmingham Police Department has been taken into custody after he was alleged to have raped a relative, according to Carol Robinson.
Lt. Peter Williston was recently charged with first degree rape following a report from a female who said that she had been raped from 2008 to 2011. The report was made to the Morris Police Department, which launched an investigation.
Williston checked into UAB Hospital and was arrested by UAB and Birmingham police when he was released on Monday.
He was taken to the Birmingham Police Department’s headquarters where he was questioned by Morris Police detectives before he was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000 and he was charged with rape by force of a female.
