BIRMINGHAM — Detectives from the Birmingham Police Department are conducting a robbery investigation that took place on Friday, June 22 and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.
The incident took place at 3:35 p.m. at King City Food Mart on Warrior Road in Birmingham. According to the Birmingham Police Department, the suspect was not an employee at the store but known to help occasionally.
The suspect is said to have entered the store before drawing a handgun at the clerk and taking money from the register. A struggle began between the two and the suspect fired the gun at the clerk. Afterwards, he fled on foot.
Police say that there were no injuries in the incident.
The suspect is a black male standing at 6’3″ to 6’5″ and may go by “Fat” or “Dee”.
