TARRANT — A woman who was shot by Tarrant police on Monday night after they say that she tried to run over one of their officers has been identified. She was released from UAB Hospital and is now in jail.
Tammy Leigh Moorer was identified in the incident. Her address was listed in Pinson according to jail records but Tarrant police said that she had several different addresses associated with her. Her charges are escape in the first degree and aggravated assault of a police officer in the second degree.
Moorer’s bonds total $25,000.
On Monday night, police from the Tarrant department stopped Moorer for a busted taillight. Police say that she fled and was pursued to a neighborhood with a dead end. She is said to have turned around and rammed her vehicle into a police SUV before she was shot by an officer.
Moorer was taken to UAB Hospital where she was released and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
