TRUSSVILLE – During the July Trussville City Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday evening, July 16, the Board recognized the TCS Transportation team for receiving an outstanding bus inspection from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
“The transportation of the children in Trussville are one of our paramount pieces of importance in all that we do everyday,” said TCS Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill. “We had a bus inspection and out of 71 buses inspected, no buses were found to have major deficiencies.”
According to the Alabama State Department of Education’s website, Alabama law (32-5-8) requires the Alabama Board of Education to adopt minimum standards to govern the specifications for all new school buses and the overall operation of all school buses in the state of Alabama.
In addition to these standards, this responsibility also extends to the inspection of school buses being sold and operated in the state of Alabama to ‘enhance the safety of Alabama’s school buses and ensure the safest transportation for our students.
“This is due to the hard work of our transportation department,” said Neill.
Dr. Neill recognized Transportation Coordinator Dale Posey, and mechanics Claude Massey, Tim Unger, Brian Hoover, and Prissy Anderson.
