MONTGOMERY— Former Clay-Chalkville and Hewitt-Trussville football coach Hal Riddle was the recipient of the 2018 Fellowship of Christian Athletes “Bubba” Scott Lifetime Achievement award at the Alabama High School Athletic Association FCA luncheon on July 19.
Coach Riddle graduated from Hewitt-Trussville and landed his first head coaching job at Erwin High School in 1993. After five seasons at Erwin, he took over as Mortimer Jordan head coach in 1998 and stayed for one season.
He led Clay-Chalkville to a state championship win in 1999 in his first season with the Cougars. He then coached Hewitt-Trussville from 2002 until 2013 with playoff appearances in all but two seasons.
