HOOVER- Police have revealed that a person died after a train collided with a vehicle in Hoover on Saturday afternoon, according to WBRC 6.
The event occurred near Elvira Road and the Lake Wilburn neighborhood.
Three individuals were transported to UAB Hospital for injuries. One of the passengers in the car, 35-year-old Alex Lyndsey Newman of West Blocton, died during surgery. A recovery is expected for the other two victims.
Early investigations indicate that a red Kia Sportage was driving north on Elvira Road when collided with a CSX train that was traveling west.
There are no reports of injuries involving anyone on the train.
