MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency have confirmed that a bicyclist, who was struck by a Muscle Shoals Police car on Monday, September 3, has died.
The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Bramlett Osteen III of Florence.
ALEA reported that the officer hit the bicycle on Alabama 133, north of Avalon Avenue, at about 3:20 a.m. The bicyclist was taken to Helen Keller Hospital and was later flown to Huntsville Hospital where he later died.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating at the request of Muscle Shoals Police Chief Clint Reck.
“I wish to extend prayers and concerns for both the cyclist and our officer,” Reck said in a news release.
