TRUSSVILLE – On Thursday the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to welcome the opening of Slag Heap Brewing Company on 227 Main Street.
Slag Heap Brewing Company produces artisanal beers by hand and has placed in over 20 competitions. They won the third annual Heart of Dixie Open Home Brew Competition People’s Choice award in 2016 and placed second in the IPA category with their At My Wits End white IPA, and third in the German Ale category with their Slag Heap Weizenbock in the Heart of Dixie home brew contest at Good People Brewing.
On-hand for the ribbon cutting were owners Joe and Susan Meadows; Mayor Buddy Choat; Councilmen Perry Cook, Jef Freeman, and Zack Steele; TACC board members Jeremy Tuggle, Johnny Amari, Debra McCarley, Ian Maddox, and Vic Modic; Chamber Ambassadors Donna Lowery, Virginia Morris, Natalie Norton, Deanna Schrecongost, and Leann Streetman; TACC Executive Director Diane Poole; and several other friends.
Hours of operation are tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Thursdays; 3 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Fridays; 12 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Saturdays; and 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Sundays.
