The Birmingham Police Department has been identified as a victim of a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to the 1200 block of Mitchell Street on a report of an accident. Officers arrived to find the victim, identified as Tarrell Antwon Watson, 24, of Birmingham, inside a vehicle unresponsive. Watson’s vehicle was wrecked against a brick porch of a house. The Jefferson County Coroner arrived and pronounced him dead on the scene.
Residents in the area reported hearing shots fired just before the Watson’s vehicle was located.
There are no suspects in custody. Updates will be released as they become available.
