Two men assault store clerk, get arrested

HOOVER – On Monday the Hoover Police Department arrested two men after they attacked a store clerk in, according to WIAT 42.

The incident occurred on Monday at approximately noon.  The assault is reported to have occurred at the Patton Chapel One Stop, in the 1900 block of Patton Chapel Road.

After sustaining injuries to his face and arms the clerk was transported to Grandview Medical center where treatment was administered.

Police were able to view surveillance video that captured the incident and were able to use the information in identifying the attackers..

Arrest warrants were issued for Joseph Alexander Weaver, 37, for third-degree robbery and second-degree assault with a bond total of $5,000. And Thomas Alton Gavin, 31, for second-degree assault with a bond total of $2,500.
