CLAY— The Clay-Chalkville Cougars (5-1) come off a bye week healthy and ready for action as they take on the Shades Valley Mounties (2-3) for homecoming this Friday night.
The Cougars come in averaging 39.3 yards per game with a great balanced attack from their offense as they average over 380 yards of total offense per week. Senior quarterback Willie Miller has proven himself week in and week out that he can lead his team down the field and produce points.
Demarcus Burris adds to the balanced attack as a playmaker in the backfield for the Cougars. As he continues his stellar play towards the playoffs.
The Mounties of Shades Valley enter the game with three losses and none of the losses have been less than 20 points. This could look very problematic for the Mounties as they give up an average of 33.2 points per game and the chances of them taking that average lower look slim.
The athletic Cougar defense looks to slow down the Mounties offense who have only scored 35 points twice in their only victories of the season so far. Look for defensive lineman DJ Dale to cause chaos in the Mounties backfield and linebacker Leroy King to make plays.
The Cougars are a big favorite in this homecoming matchup and expect head coach Drew Gilmer to have his team mentally prepared to handle business and keep a nice look out for the playoffs as October continues.
