BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is reporting that homicide investigators need assistance from the public to identify the homicide suspect from surveillance photos that the authorities have obtained.

The incident occurred Sunday in the 2400 block of Pearson Avenue at the M & N Groceries.
The victim has been identified as Demetrius Davis, a 37-year-old black male from Birmingham.
