From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TUSCALOOSA –Alabama and Auburn dispensed with their lightweight opponents on Saturday. Despite Bama finding itself in a 10-10 halftime tie with The Citadel, neither of the in-state big boys expended much energy in overwhelming wins.
The attention of both teams now turns to the Iron Bowl. No. 1 Alabama will bring a 11-0 record into the game while Auburn will arrive in Tuscaloosa with a 7-4 mark.
While the game has had it’s share of quirkiness such as Punt Bama Punt, Wrong Way Bo, and Kick Six, the favored team usually wins.
Alabama’s offense has been a juggernaut, Auburn brings a top 10 defense to face the Crimson Tide.
Las Vegas betting lines opened with Alabama as a heavy 24 point favorite.
The temperature will be in the low 60’s for the 2:30 p.m. kickoff and will drop into the 50’s by the 4th quarter. There is only a 20 percent chance of rain. CBS will televise the game.
