TAMPA BAY, Fla. –UPDATED: Linebacker Reuben Foster was cut by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday morning following his arrest on domestic violence battery charges in Tampa on Saturday.
ORIGINAL STORY: According to media reports, former Alabama player and current San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested for domestic violence battery on Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The 49ers are in Tampa Bay, where they will play the Buccaneers on Sunday.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Foster, 24, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. local time and booked into jail at 11:11 p.m., according to an arrest report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department. No bond has been posted yet. On Saturday, two members of the valet-parking staff said an ambulance was at the Grand Hyatt earlier in the evening.
The incident is the latest in a string of legal trouble for Foster over the past 10 months. Foster was also charged with domestic violence earlier in 2018, but the charges were dismissed when his girlfriend recanted her statement.
