TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Police Departments have reported a robbery that occurred Sunday evening at approximately 10:38 p.m. on Nov. 25.
According to Lt. Phil Dillon, a 22-year-old black male stole a vehicle at gun point at the 5300 block of Deerfoot Parkway. The suspect pointed a gun at the occupants of the vehicle, which included one adult and two small children, forcing him and the children out of the car. The suspect then drove off in the vehicle and got on I-59 NB at the exit 143 entrance ramp.
A short time later, the Springville Police Department spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop and the suspect ran from the vehicle. After a foot chase, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect matched the description of the robbery suspect and a handgun was found on his person. Charges are pending against the suspect.
