BLOUNT COUNTY — Megan Bullard Collins, a 29-year-old white female from Blount County, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the 2014 shooting death of Clint Alan Myrick, according to Carol Robinson of Al.com.
Robinson reported that on Nov. 20, 2014, law enforcement responded to a 911 call at around 1:30 p.m., at the home of Collins in the 600 block of Kelsoe Road in Blount County. Collins told law enforcement that she had put her non-live-in boyfriend, Myrick, out of the house. Myrick later returned with a baseball bat. It was reported that Collins, armed with a shotgun, fired a warning shot and then fired again. The second shot struck Myrick in the upper body.
After Collins’ guilty plea, she received a sentence of 15 years and six months in prison, according to Robinson.
