BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin a roadway survey on I-59 northbound on Thursday, Dec. 6, weather permitting. Beginning at 9 a.m., the survey will be done from a half mile north of Bush Blvd. (Milepost 122.0) to a half mile south of Arkadelphia Road (Exit 123) in Birmingham.
- The I-59/20 Northbound inside (left) two lanes and shoulder will be closed in the area of the operation.
- This operation will be for one day only and all traffic lanes will be re-opened no later than 3 p.m.
Motorists are encouraged to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this maintenance operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
