JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County sheriff’s detectives are now conducting a homicide investigation after an 18-year-old male victim, shot this afternoon in McDonalds Chapel, died at an area hospital.
Deputies responded to a shooting complaint at a convenience store in the 3200 block of Birmingport Road on Monday, Dec. 31, at around 3 p.m.
It was reported that several shots had been fired between two groups of men in the store parking lot. Two adult men involved had been shot and transported to an area hospital in private cars. One of the men, an 18-year-old, died at the hospital.
