According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday morning deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun running along Old Bagley Road. As they were searching for him, they received a report that an adult female had been found shot inside a vehicle at a residence in the 8500 block of Old Bagley Road. Deputies arrived at that location and found a woman dead on the scene.

While on scene, an adult male called into 911 and admitted that he had shot the victim.  He gave his location at a residence in the 5000 block of Cindy Lane before disconnecting the call.
