TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville dominated the overtime period Friday night as they defeated Center Point 57-48. The Huskies were down by four points with 30 seconds left in regulation, but rallied to force an overtime.
Center Point led by four points after the first quarter and eight points at halftime. A big third quarter from the Huskies cut the lead to one going into the final period. Cameron Glover scored all 20 of his points in the second half to lead the team in scoring. Jaxon Hunter added 13 points.
The Huskies will now compete in the AHSAA Area Tournament. Coach Jeff Baker’s squad will face Mountain Brook Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. The Spartans are hosting this year’s tournament.
Before the game, Hewitt-Trussville honored its two seniors, Jaxon Hunter and Sam Cork.
