BIRMINGHAM — The United States Department of Justice is reviewing all aspects of an investigation into the shooting death of Emantic “EJ” Bradford, according to WVTM.
State Attorney General Steve Marshall made the decision, last week, that the officer that shot Bradford at the Riverchase Galleria mall on Thanksgiving would not face prosecution.
“This matter has been, and continues to be, under review by various civil rights components within the Department of Justice since these events occurred,” U.S. Attorney Jay Town said in a statement. “The recent release of a 10-week investigation by the State of Alabama is now a part of that review by those components. Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time.”
WVTM reported that Bradford’s parents were unhappy with the report from Marshall, who took over the case from Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr.
