Zach Nichols pitched a superb game on Wednesday giving up zero hits in Clay-Chalkville’s 15-0 win over Center Point.
The Cougars set the offensive pace early with Noah Lessley taking a walk and scoring the first run.
It was to get better for the Cougars, with Clay-Chalkville managing to score eight runs in the second inning with Noah Tatum, Matthew Blahous, Nichols, Evan Kinciad, Clayton Epps and Joel Macon each driving in runs.
The Cougars racked up a total eight hits, producing 15 runs in the game, with Nichols and Hicks each having two a piece. Cougar Ashton Kincaid provided three of Clay-Chalkville’s eight stolen bases.
Nichols gave up no hits over the course of five innings. He struck out nine and walked zero.
