VIDEO: Birmingham Police investigating 2 robberies in East Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham detectives are asking for information in two robbery investigations.

Police have released surveillance images and video from the first robbery, which happened on March 7 around 9:45 p.m.  The suspect entered the Walgreens at 9325 Parkway East, approached the register and showed the store clerk a gun.  The suspect then demanded money and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the second robbery happened on March 8 around 6:58 p.m.  The suspect entered a Family Dollar located at 6629 First Ave. N.  The suspect approached the register to purchase an item.  When the store clerk opened the register, the suspect revealed a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
