BIRMINGHAM — Two people were shot Thursday, March 21, after adults got involved in an altercation between kids, according to Birmingham Police.
Detectives with the West Precinct responded to a call about a shooting around 7:30 p.m. at 1340 Pine View Road. They located a shooting victim and that person was taken to the hospital. Police said the victim was later pronounced dead.
During the Pine View Road investigation, officers were called to a traffic accident nearby. Officers learned one of the people involved in the accident had been shot and had attempted to leave the scene after the shooting. That victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of an injury that was not life-threatening.
Detectives later concluded the incident started with an altercation between two kids and they believe it escalated when three adults got involved. Police arrested one adult in connection to the shootings of the other two.
