TUSCALOOSA — A Friday crash in Tuscaloosa County claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl who was a passenger in the vehicle and injured the 16-year-old female driver, according to Alabama State Troopers.
The crash occurred on Bama Rock Garden Road near Vance at about 10:15 p.m. on Friday, troopers said.
The teens were traveling in a 2009 Toyota Camry when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and overturned. Troopers said speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The teen passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.
State Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident.
