PINSON — In a heartbreaker, Pinson Valley varsity softball was bested by Pell City, 7-1, Thursday, April 11.
Ka’Mya Hampton pitched seven innings for the Indians. She allowed seven runs on 11 hits and struck out six.
Emily Butts took the win for Pell City. She pitched seven innings and gave up two hits and one run. Butts struck out five and walked zero.
A key to Pell City’s victory was an offense that was on point. Madeline Houke singled on a 2-2 count in the top of the first inning giving Pell City their first run, and they never looked back.
The seventh inning was a big one for Pell City. The team scored three runs with Katlyan Dulaney, Emily Dulaney and Houk contributing to RBIs.
Pell City had a total of 11 hits in the game. Multiple hits were provided by Katie Henderson, Houk, Dulaney and Evi Edwards.
Hitting for the Indians was led by Jordan Walker and Graci Graves. Walker and Graves each got one hit for Pinson Valley.
Pell City had five errors for the game.
Pinson had four errors for the game.
