TRUSSVILLE — A new Trussville City Schools board member was introduced at Tuesday’s meeting of the city council. Kim DeShazo will be filling the board position of Bill Roberts. Roberts‘ term is concluding after a decade of service to the students of Trussville. For six years of that service, Roberts was the board president.
“Bill knows how I feel about him and the service he’s given,” said Mayor Buddy Choat. “He’s done more in his service than one can imagine. People don’t understand how dedicated this man is to the city of Trussville. Not just our school system, but the city of Trussville. I got a feeling we’ll see Bill hanging around, find something else to get him involved in, he’s that kind of guy and we appreciate it.”
Choat also had words of welcome and appreciation for DeShazo.
“Kim, we’re glad to have you,” he said. “We welcome you and your family here tonight. We’re glad to have you with us and Dr. Neill (TCS Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill), I know you’re getting a good school board member…I know she’s going to be a grand addition to the board.”
DeShazo was appointed to a five-year term effective May 25.
