PINSON — An armed robbery at a convenience store on Pinson Valley Parkway on Friday morning left the store clerk injured and law enforcement personnel searching for the suspect.
“The Chevron store at 5315 Pinson Valley Parkway was robbed this (Friday) morning at 6:47 a.m.,” according to a social media post by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Capt. David Agee, the robber discharged a weapon into the floor and the clerk suffered a minor injury when struck by fragments of the bullet.
Agee said detectives are on the scene and actively searching for the suspect.
No description of the suspect or a possible getaway vehicle was immediately available. This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
