The Pinson City Council passed resolutions Thursday night to elect Dawn Tanner, Joe Cochran, John Churchwell and Joy McCain to the city council. Each of the elected are current councilors running unopposed for their respective seats. The movements were unanimous for each council member

Resolution 12-28 states that Dawn Tanner will remain on Place 1 for the city council. Resolution 12-29 states that Joe Cochran will remain on Place 2 for the city council. Resolution 12-30 states that John Churchwell will remain on Place 4 for the city council. Resolution 12-31 states that Joy McCain will remain on Place 5 for the city council.
In the City of Pinson 2012 Municipal Race, only Shane Shelnutt will not seek reelection. Shelnutt currently holds Place 3 on the council. Pinson residents Jeff Walden, George “Robbie” Roberts and Cathy Leslie are running for Council Place 3.
Mayor Hoyt Sanders is also running for reelection. He is opposed by Pinson residents Phil Sims and Sue Bowden.
Pinson citizens can vote at Pinson United Methodist on August 28. If necessary, a run-off will be held in October.
