Clay native Dial to play in Jan. 19 all-star game

Former Clay-Chalkville standout and Alabama football senior defensive end Quinton Dial will play in next Saturday’s Raycom College Football All-Star Classic.

The inaugural classic will be played Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.

Dial, along with four Alabama teammates, will play on the Stripes team. Dial, a 2009 Clay-Chalkville High School graduate, played in 14 games this season and recorded 22 tackles, five tackles for loss, four quarterback pressures and one sack. He recorded a season-high six tackles, including one stop behind the line, in a 21-17 win at LSU.

He added one stop behind the line against Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship.

Dial played in 25 games over the last two seasons, both national championship seasons for the Crimson Tide.
