Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive will be the featured speaker at the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce’s February luncheon, it was announced Thursday.
The luncheon will be Feb. 21 at the Trussville Civic Center.
In his 10 years as the SEC commissioner, Slive has presided over a successful period in the conference, athletically and financially
. The SEC has won 63 national titles across all sports in the last 10 years, including the last seven football BCS national championships, and distributed 1.5 million in revenue to its 12 schools during the 2011-12 fiscal year.
The chamber will also accept nonperishable food items as part of the “Love Your Neighbor” food drive to benefit T.E.A.M., a local food bank.
Reservations are each and are required by noon Feb. 19. Networking time begins at 11:30 a.m., and lunch is served at noon, followed by Slive’s presentation at approximately 12:30 p.m. The chamber will also recognize its February Customer Service Award recipient.
