A Trussville man is charged with four counts of attempted murder after a Jan. 8 shooting.
Carlos Johnson, 22, is charged and remains in Jefferson County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian said that shortly before 11 p.m. on Jan
. 8 deputies responded to a gas station in the 1100 block of Center Point Parkway to investigate a report of a shooting. The victims told deputies they had been traveling along Center Point Parkway when the suspect pulled alongside them and fired shots into their vehicle.
They had been driving when a female called them and said, “I can see you,” Christian said. They noticed a blue Chevrolet Impala following them. The driver of the Impala began blowing its horn and trying to get them to pull over. They refused to stop, Christian said.
The Impala pulled up beside them and the suspect, the front seat passenger, rolled down his window and fired two shots, Christian said. The Impala then sped off in an unknown direction. The victim pulled into the gas station and called 911.
No one was injured in the incident. There were three adults and a 2-year-old child in the victims’ vehicle, Christian said.
It was learned that the driver of the victims’ vehicle had been in a relationship with Johnson. The driver of the suspect’s vehicle has not been charged, Christian said.
Warrants charging Johnson were obtained Jan. 14. He was captured Jan. 21.
