A Trussville native was recently named Jefferson County’s ambassador queen of the Miss Heart of the USA Pageant.
Hannah Logan, 17, will represent Jefferson County at the 2013 Alabama State Miss Heart of the USA on Sept. 7 in Enterprise, where she will compete for scholarship money. Winners of the Alabama pageant will advance to the Miss Heart of the USA Nationals in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 15-16. Contestants at the national pageant will compete for a $5,000 scholarship.
Logan is a senior at Westbrook Christian School in Rainbow City, where she is a standout volleyball player and a Who’s Who Among American High School Students student. Logan this season was also an assistant coach for Westbrook Christian’s volleyball team. She has also worked at Camp Coleman as a counselor and unit leader.
Logan’s platforms are Stomp Out Hunger, Stomp Out Bullying and Neverthirst Water.
Logan is the daughter of Barry and Ashley Logan of Trussville.
Logan will be at Saturday’s St. Clair County’s Miss Heart of the USA food drive at 11 a.m. The drive is at Destiny Life Church in Odenville.
The Miss Heart of the USA Pageant began as a food drive for a rescue mission whose pantry was low and blossomed into a national pageant program that has distributed more than 750,000 nonperishable food items to nonprofit organizations, collected toys for Toys for Tots and collected and distributed baby items for a Women’s Hope Center
