Argo police issue crime alert: Lookout for trio attempting to rob residents

Argo Chief of Police James Downing issued a crime alert Thursday morning and asked the public to be on the lookout for a white van and three individuals suspected of knocking on doors in order to rob residents.

“Please be on the lookout for a white male (possibly dressed in a suit) with a white female and black male driving the vehicle,” Downing said in the alert.

“Suspects could possibly switch vehicles. Suspects come to your door trying to sell something such as dishwashing liquid with the intention to rob you.

Please contact Central Dispatch 205-467-3333 should you see anyone such as these described in your neighborhood.  If possible get a description of the vehicle and their direction of travel.”
