Area sports this week

Hewitt-Trussville

The varsity baseball team travels to Ensley Park to play Carver on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., and plays a doubleheader at Tuscaloosa County on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. The team plays in Florida for a spring break tournament next week.

The varsity softball team hosts Hoover on Monday at 5 p.m., weather permitting. The team takes on Moody at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. and hosts rival Clay-Chalkville on Thursday at 5 p.m. The girls play in Gulf Shores over the weekend.

The varsity tennis teams host Clay-Chalkville on Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m. The varsity boys’ soccer team travels to Spain Park on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and plays at Clay-Chalkville on Thursday at 7 p.m. The girls’ soccer team hosts Pelham on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and plays at 6 p.m. Friday at Clay-Chalkville.

The varsity boys’ golf team hosts Pinson Valley on Tuesday at Trussville Country Club.

Clay-Chalkville

The varsity baseball team travels to Oxford on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. game. Clay-Chalkville will then host Oxford on Friday for a doubleheader starting at 4:30 p.m. The team will play against Albertville and Guntersville at Guntersville on Saturday. The team will play in the Mountain Brook Invitational next week.

The varsity softball team hosts Shades Valley on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and travels to rival Hewitt-Trussville on Thursday at 5 p.m. The girls play Friday and Saturday at Baker High School in Mobile.

Pinson Valley

Weather permitting, the varsity baseball team plays for the Jefferson County Tournament championship against Gardendale at 6 p.m. today on the Birmingham-Southern College campus. Weather permitting, the team travels to Mountain Brook on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game. The team next week plays in the Tallahassee Spring Break Tournament in Florida.

The varsity softball team travels to McAdory today for a 5 p.m. game and hosts Springville on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The varsity boys’ soccer team hosts Homewood on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and travels to Walker on Thursday for a 5 p.m. matchup.
