For Clay Chalkville Cougars ‘Defense is a team concept’
The Clay Chalkville Cougars are looking to TJ McCallum for experience and leadership. “He leads by example on and off the field. He is very consistent,” said head Jerry Hood.
“Defense is so different from the offense, it’s a team effort. Everyone has to work together, if they do, it can lead to win,” Hood said.
The Cougars are bringing back an experienced defense. All three linebackers are returning to the field supported by some new starters and some guys moving in from other positions.
“We have some new starters, Adam White is moving from nickleback to cornerback. Kaleel Adams will probably start in safety.” Hood said.
According to Hood, the team has 16 to 17 players to give the defense some depth.
“They defense will go a long way to giving us a solid chance for this season.” Hood said. “All these guys are committed to playing their roles and working as a team.”
