PowerOn Repairs today announced the opening of its cell phone and game console repair store at 1423 Gadsden Highway in Trussville.
The store is located in the shopping center that includes Mizu’s Japanese Steakhouse, Firehouse Subs and Dippin’ Dots, among others.
The locally owned store is a certified Wild PCS service provider and offers on-site repairs with a 90-day warranty. A grand opening is planned for early this summer.
“From working in wireless sales, I noticed a huge need for a repair store like this in Trussville,” said Danny Skinner, the store’s owner. “People don’t always have the money or the desire to replace their phones and gaming equipment when something goes wrong. As smartphones and tablets have risen in popularity, so have their costs. Repairing is usually the cheapest option for our customers, even less than an insurance deductible in most cases.”
Skinner, whose background is in the cellular industry, said his top repairs are for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry units. The store also provides X-Box 360 and PlayStation 3 repairs.
“Our clients come to us directly or are referred by local cell phone service providers,” Skinner said. “We perform our work in house and have customers coming from all over Alabama.”
The store offers cracked screen repair for smartphones and iPads, liquid damage remediation and game console repairs. It also buys, sells and trades phones.
“Wild PCS certification allows us to offer advanced Level 3 circuit board repair techniques; things that aren’t ‘unplug-plug in’ parts,” he said. “To the customer, this could mean charging port repair, sim card reader, anything soldered on
. We are the only cell phone repair store in the Birmingham area to offer some of these services.”
The store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call (205) 661-0299 or visit www.poweronrepairs.com.
