Michael Gunter’s magic ride continues.
After helping his Samford Bulldogs reach the NCAA regionals for the first time in school history, the former Hewitt Husky pitcher finished his college career pitching 5 2/3 no-hit, shutout innings against Florida State University in the finals. At the time, Gunter probably felt his all his dreams had come true. But some dreams just never seem to die.
Two weeks ago, Gunter decided to attend the White Sox open tryouts in Hoover. The long shot paid off when Sox officials contacted Gunter a few days later and told him that they planned to sign

Gunter has been assigned to the Bristol Sox in Virginia where he will take the mound as the starter on Thursday night. Bristol is home to the Chicago White Sox rookie team.
