The 33rd Annual Dog Daze Family Festival will have a new name. At its July meeting, the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved changing the name to “Trussville City Fest.”
According to TACC Executive Director Diane Poole, “Dog Daze was named when the festival was held in August during the ‘dog days of summer.’ When we moved the festival to spring in 2009, we really wanted to change the name, too, but we knew nobody could find it if we changed both at the same time. Many people think Dog Daze is a dog festival, and a lot of people have told me they can’t come because they don’t have a dog. I think we’ll be more inclusive if we change the name to something that more adequately reflects Trussville and what the festival really is.”
Dates for the 2013 festival are May 3-4. For more information about the chamber and Trussville City Fest, please call (205) 655-7535 or visit www.trussvillechamber.com
