Voters turned out at Pinson United Methodist Church on Tuesday to select the next Pinson mayor and city council. With all boxes reporting, The Tribune is projecting the winners in the Pinson mayor and council race.
In the mayoral race, incumbent Hoyt Sanders faced challengers Sue Bowden and Phil Sims
. Unofficial results show Sanders with 451 votes will return to office without a run-off, Sims had 234 votes and Bowden had 69 votes.
In Council Place 3, the face-off was between citizens Cathy Leslie, Robbie Roberts and Jeff Walden. Unofficial results in that race showed Roberts with 357 votes, Walden with 223 votes and Leslie with 145 votes.
That would place Roberts in a run-off with Walden on Oct. 9.
