According to Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department, Kermit-Johnson Elementary School in north Jefferson County was locked down for about 10 minutes on Friday while deputies searched for an armed burglary suspect
.
“He fled in the direction of the school,” Christian said. “He never made it there. He is in custody.”
Christian said students were never in danger and the lock down was done as a precaution”
