Clay Councilman L
. B. Feemster returned to his seat on the Clay City Council tonight after over 11 weeks of recovery from a stroke he had in June.
“We’re all tickled that he’s back,” Mayor Ed McGuffie said. “This is good for him to get out and get back to running the business of the city.”
Feemster had a stroke on June 29, after being diagnosed with and undergoing treatment for Atrial Fibrillation, which is irregular heartbeat.
He was in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital from June 28 through July 3, and then transferred to the Spain Rehabilitation Center at UAB from July 3 to Aug. 23.
“I just want to thank everybody,” Feemster said. “I got so many cards and so many visits from the people of Clay and so many of the churches. I just want to thank them all and tell them how much I appreciate their prayers and well wishes.”
