Carroll Total Care is hosting a women’s health support group in Clay. Called “Women 2 Women,” the slogan is “Journeying together to wellness.”
Pharmacy Tech Kristi Russell said she started the group because she kept having conversations with individual women about similar health concerns.
So, she figured the women would benefit from advice as a group and give mutual support.
The first meeting was on Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m
. on the topic of the four supplements all women need. Russell said about seven women attended.
On Oct. 18, the topic will be on adrenal fatigue, which carries some controversy. According to Dr. Jennifer Landa in a blog on the Fox News website, “Although conventional medicine does not recognize adrenal fatigue as a distinct syndrome, substantial evidence exists supporting it, thus creating the need to establish diagnostic criteria.”
Those that recognize it say it is poor functioning adrenal glands caused by stress and leading to fatigue, poorly-functioning immune system and mood irregularities.
