The Trussville City Schools Board of Education announced at its board meeting Tuesday that it will begin accepting applications in the form of a letter of interest and resume for Superintendent of Trussville City Schools on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
In accordance with Alabama state law, the Board will post notice for the Superintendent’s position at the Board of Education central office and at each work site in the school system.
The Board said that candidates must have earned a Doctorate degree and served as a Superintendent for a minimum of 3 years.
Dr. Pattie Neill has been in the driver’s seat for a six month interim period and has already accomplished a great deal.
“The board directed me to do three immediate things,” Neill said. “We needed to fill vacancies on the staff, create an alternative learning program for students in need and adopt a math textbook program.”
Dr. Neill has held the interim position for six months, as dictated by law, but has enjoyed the opportunity.
“I think Trussville is a great place to be, we need to work together to keep making it better,” Neill said.
The Board will be accepting applications through close of day Nov
. 3. A Superintendent is expected to be named no later than January 12.
