Medical emergencies took place at the Hewitt-Trussville versus Mountain Brook game and the Gasden City versus Clay-Chalkville game last Friday evening.
At Mountain Brook, emergency staff was summoned to the stands when a Hewitt fan and grandfather of a Husky player fell ill. Paramedics preformed CPR, but the gentleman later passed away. We are withholding the name until the family has an opportunity to notify other family members.
Meanwhile, at Clay-Chalkville, Cougar running back Sidney Battle went down with an injury. Battle was taken to the hospital by a rescue unit. We’ll update Battle’s condition if his family chooses to make the information public.
Battle led the Cougars with 259 yards on 18 carries last Friday. The junior tailback visited Ole Miss last Saturday.
