Drugs were the target of an armed robbery at a Grayson Valley pharmacy on Monday evening between 5:30 and 6:00 pm
.
Three employees were working behind the counter of Tyner’s Pharmacy, 5600 block of Chalkville Road, when a thin white male, approximately 5’10”, wearing a black pull over hoodie with what looked to be a gray emblem on the front and gloves on his hands came in the store, according to Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
“The white male was also wearing a dark cloth mask and pointed a black semi automatic handgun at the three,” Chrsitian said. “(He) ran behind the counter and demanded Alprazalam and Diazapam (Xanax and Valium). After he received the drugs, he had the employees lay on the ground and warned them to stay there for 5 minutes. The suspect fled and his direction of travel nor vehicle type could not be seen”
Deputies along with Trussville Police searched the area and neighborhoods, but the suspect could not be located. BOLOs were issued for the suspect.
According to other sources, no one was injured in the incident and the suspect left on foot in the direction of Trussville.
