Just before the season kicked off, Clay-Chalkville’s DeAndre Woods decommitted from Mississippi State. According to the CCHS Football Twitter account, the senior wide receiver will stay in the SEC and play for Vanderbilt University
.
Mississippi State had a recruiter on hand to watch Woods help his team to an overtime victory over Pinson Valley just a few weeks ago, signaling that the Bulldogs were still in pursuit.
The tweet from #CCHSFootball said, “DeAndre Woods commits to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Congrats DeAndre. You are an unselfish team player and great person. #Go Vandy. ”
The announcement came shortly after the Commodores defeated Auburn by a score of 17-13 on Saturday afternoon.
