Sources say a man and his child were crossing Highway 75 in front of Pinson Valley High School when they were struck by a vehicle.
Reports say the incident took place as the two were leaving the stadium during the 3rd quarter of the PVHS game versus Pleasant Grove
Pinson city councilman Joe Cochran was one of the first people on the scene

“It was a bad situation,” Cochran said. “I noticed a person lying on the side of the road and I called the deputies and had them come over with emergency services.”
Cocharan said there was a female driving the vehicle and she stopped immediately. He also said the deputy had emergency personal on the scene withing seconds.
The child has been transported to the hospital by ambulance and the man has been airlifted to the hospital.
The highway has reopened to traffic.
