The Birmingham News reported that a man was shot twice in Irondale on New Year’s Eve when he tried to stop another partygoer from firing his gun into the air.
According to the story, the incident took place at the Eastwood Mobile Home Village on Alton Road.
Irondale Detective Michael Mangina told The Birmingham News that the shooting took place in a Hispanic community, and partygoers were scared to talk to police and feared the gunman would return
.
Mangina told the newspaper that the shooter used a 9mm handgun and fled the party in a white SUV. He is still at large.
According to the story by Carol Robinson, police “asked that anyone with information call Irondale police at 956- 5990, the tip line at 951-7547 or post a message on the Irondale Police Department’s Facebook page.”
