Trussville police chief Don Sivley said a resident was struck by a vehicle while walking with a friend this morning shortly after 8 am.
The female pedestrian, 41, was walking with a friend on Birch Street when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 16 year old male
. Police do not believe the driver was speeding, but said an icy windshield may have impaired his vision.
The woman was transported to the hospital with head trauma by Trussville Fire and Rescue.
The name of the victim or the driver have not been released at this time.
